In the last few years, photo booths have become a must-have at all parties, and I’m not complaining. With the popularity of photo booths growing, the types and looks have evolved past the old mall photo booth. There are so many booths to pick from, but you want to make sure you choose the right one for you.
Here are some things to help you in choosing:
1 – Space
A large, enclosed booth, like a camper or a VW, can be a bit of an eye-sore in the middle of your dance floor, and to be honest, it may not even fit through the doors if you’re having an indoors party. But they are a beautiful and super fun option for large, outdoor parties. Understand how much room you have before choosing your booth.
2- Decoration
Don’t be afraid to ask for a list of backdrops and props and make sure that what you choose is in your desired theme. You’ve been working so hard to make everything look good together, your photo booth shouldn’t be an exception. There are some photo booth companies that will even go as far as to decorate the actual booth so it’s on theme.
3 – Type of party
This one is so important!!! I know, it’s kind of obvious, but it truly makes a difference when choosing booths.
A camper booth is perfect for a rustic wedding, a pit ball booth is great for family-friendly events, and a booth run by an attendant is perfect for an upscale party. Ask for suggestions of what would go best with your party.
4 – Understand the booths
You’re probably here for this very reason, so you’re already ahead of the game. I won’t go into great detail about enclosed and open-air booths because we already have a whole post dedicated to it here (that’s right, shameless plug to another post) But it’s also so important to understand what the booths can do.
Some photo booth companies have specific booths that can host specific experiences. So if you’re looking for a green screen, slow-mo, GIFs, or Boomerangs your choice of a photo booth, and photo booth companies might be a bit limited.
5 – Desired outcome
Know what you’re looking to get from your photo booth. You may simply be looking for a fun way to capture great moments, but it is important to know that you have endless possibilities.
Aside from taking great photos, some booths are equipped with software to gather your guests’ information for marketing purposes. Some photo booth companies also offer photo albums, flipbooks, and image overlay’s so your brand is on full display.
I know that this is a lot to think about when thinking of a photo booth, but it is important to understand your options so you know that you’re spending your money the right way.
